Baked Beans
in Molasses

2 cups Yellow Eye beans
¼ cup cooking oil
1 Tablespoon salt---yes, thats right
Cold water to cover
Soak overnight---then drain
⅓ lb salt pork (or onions and bacon) place on bottom of pot or slow cooker
3T molasses
1 teaspoon salt
½ tsp dry mustard
1onion, diced or whole
2 Tablespoons Ketchup
Put all ingredients into slow cooker
Add water to cover
Cook on low for 6 hours
Eat with Johnny Cakes
